I grew up in Grayson County and currently live in Sherman, Texas. I graduated from Austin College in 2008, and I have been practicing law in Texas since I graduated from law school in 2011. My practice has been devoted to family law, probate, and estate planning, and I have handled cases in numerous counties throughout north Texas. I am a partner at the law firm of Mackoy, Hernandez, Jones, & Woods, LLP, and I manage an active caseload in Grayson, Collin, and Denton Counties. I have been active in the legal community and maintain memberships in the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Texas, the College of the State Bar of Texas, and multiple local bar associations. I have been recognized in the Texas Super Lawyers Rising Stars list for the years 2019-2024, and I am part of the 1/3 of 1% of Texas attorneys selected as a Fellow to the Texas Bar Foundation.

I have handled cases that have been resolved by trial, and also cases that have been resolved through alternative disputes resolution processes. In my experience, those matters resolved in mediation have given parties a greater degree of control over the outcome of their case. Given that in many cases parties will be living with their family order for years to come, having a say is a good thing. Even with an excellent attorney by your side, the outcome of trial is unpredictable. I obtained mediator certification to assist families in determining their own futures, rather than “rolling the dice” in court.
